The Gay and Lesbian Humanist Association (GALHA) has welcomed the news that Anglican homophobe Rev Tony Higton has given up his strenuous campaign against gays and turned his attention to crystal-gazing.
GALHA Secretary George Broadhead commented: “It is a relief to learn that we have one less Anglican homophobe to contend with, but Rev Higton’s conversion to barmy New Age practices does not mean that he has changed his mind about the sinfulness of gay sex. Moreover, the hostility shown by a majority of Anglican bishops to the lowering of the age of consent for gay men, and their plan to oppose this in the House of Lords, shows that Higton is not alone in his Bible-based prejudice. As far as gay Humanists are concerned, religion is the problem, not the answer.”
